Monuments of Guía de Isora
Iglesia Nuestra Señora de la Luz
The church of Nuestra Señora de la Luz dates back to the 16th century. It was erected after the appearance of an image of Nuestra Señora de Guía. Inside, there are some outstanding altarpieces, images, paintings (such as La Anunciación and Las Ánimas del Purgatorio) and gold and silver work.
It is a building that has undergone many alterations since its construction began in 1536. Later, at the beginning of the 18th century, it was converted into a two-nave church with a belfry. It remained like this until the flood of 1879 seriously damaged the construction.
