The Tejina mountain is a landscape of great geological value due to its volcanic composition, mainly phonolites and trachybasalts, materials that were later covered by volcanic lava flows. The action of erosion led to the formation of the Guaria and Cuéscara ravines, on both sides of the monument and of considerable depth. On the slopes you will find terraces, evidence of the way the land has been used for agriculture.

You will be able to see such particular plant species as the balillo, the jócamo or the cerrajón. There are also numerous drafos, pear trees and junipers. Be careful where you step because the birds find plenty of places here to build their nests. Feral pigeons and Cory’s shearwaters flit around, as well as the largest bats in the Canary Islands.

Montaña de Tejina is a special feature of the landscape in the west of Tenerife. With 169.7 hectares, the monument is located in the municipality of Guía de Isora.
